First Aid at work
This course is approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). It is the only course which once completed, allows candidates to be used as 'First Aiders' in the work place, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The course is run in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations Act 1981.
This course can be fully tailored or adapted to best suit a particular workplace or environment.
The First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions. The course can be run over non consecutive days for anything upto ten weeks, but this needs to be arranged in advance.
The First Aid at Work course includes:
- First Aid Priorities
- Basic Life Support
- Dealing with Unconsciousness
- Causes of Unconsciousness
- Control of Bleeding
- Fractures
- Burns
- Medical Emergencies
- Cardiac Illness
- Eye Injuries
- Regulations
All students attending this course will be independently assessed on the final afternoon of the course. Having been assessed successfully, students are certified for 3 years.
The HSE currently “strongly recommend” that all first aid trained staff receive annual update training in addition to their requalification course in three years.
Cost
The cost of the three-day course is £1195 fully inclusive. This cost is set for groups of up to 12 students It includes certification, a full manual for each student and all other costs. Additional students can be added for a per head cost.
