First Aid for the Appointed Person
Trident Medical offer this one day Emergency First Aid course designed specifically for 'low risk' environments. This course is suitable for any business wishing to train their staff to deal with the common injuries and medical emergencies that could occur to staff in the course of their normal duties.
The course can be adapted to suit a particular audience and can include any specific training need identified within an individual environment.
The course is run over one day and includes both theory and practical sessions. We train all of our courses by promoting a relaxed and fun atmosphere, designed to boost a candidate's confidence to act if an emergency were to occur at your place of work.
The training would be delivered by one of our team. All of our trainers are experienced healthcare professionals, most carrying a minimum of paramedic staus.

The course syllabus includes:-
- First aid principles
- The unconscious patient
- Basic Life Support
- Causes of unconsciousness
- Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Diabetes,
Heart Attacks and other related emergencies
- Control of Bleeding
- Burns and Scalds
- First Aid Kits
Certification is not based on a final clinical exam, rather, those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate that is valid for three years.
Cost
The cost of this course for up to 14 candidates is £325 fully inclusive. This includes certification and a manual for each student. Additional students can be added at a per head cost.
Please note that the HSE 'highly recommend' that all first aid trained staff receive annual update training. Please see our 'annual update' training section for more information
