Tactical Medicine & FPOS
Trident Medical are pleased to be able to offer a specialist Tactical Medical course combined with the IHCD FPOS qualification. This course has been developed to suit the needs of candidates that need the next level of training above standard first aid. The students on this course will be taught to deal with the rapid assessment, stabilization and transfer of both the trauma victim and those suffering a medical emergency. It is aimed at those working in high risk and hostile environments.
The first three days of the course are based around the FPOS
syllabus, with the additional two days being in place for those requiring extended skills. The course is highly interactive with both theory sessions and lots of time for ‘hands on’ and scenario based training. The training is designed to develop a good, all round Tactical First Responder.
All of our instructors are practicing health care professionals, most carrying a minimum of Paramedic status. We feel this makes the difference from other courses available, as students can draw on the extensive personal experience of their instructors
The syllabus includes FPOS -
Scene Safety, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy, Spinal Immobilization, Defibrillation (AED), Trauma and Medical Emergencies
Extended Skills –
Cannulation, Fluid Therapy, Advanced Trauma – Chest, Abdominal, Head and Extremity injuries. The use of Tourniquets and Hemostatics
Cost
The cost for individual places on our regular “open” courses is £395 for all five days. This includes registration, manuals and full certification.
For larger groups we can deliver this course on an 'in-house' basis. Please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.
